CORPUS CHRISTI, TX –The Art Museum of South Texas (AMST) announces the opening of Woody Gwyn: Skylight On Water, Trees, Rock and Road on May 15, presented by Robert J. Kleberg Jr. and Helen C. Kleberg Foundation, a compelling exhibition that explores the quiet intensity and luminous detail of the Southwestern landscape.
Known for his meticulous technique and meditative approach to place, artist Woody Gwyn captures the subtle interplay of light, surface, and atmosphere across water, stone, and terrain. The exhibition invites viewers to slow down and engage deeply with the natural world through Gwyn’s precise and evocative works.
¡COLORES! Woody Gwyn will air twice on KEDT-TV on Saturday May 9 at 5:30pm and again on Monday May 11 at 9pm. ¡COLORES! is a New Mexico PBS series that celebrates the creative spirit found in the Land of Enchantment.
An opening reception will be held on May 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, offering an exclusive first look at the exhibition. The evening will include an artist talk with Woody Gwyn at 6:30 PM in the gallery, providing insight into Gwyn’s process and artistic vision. The reception is free, with a cash bar and light appetizers available.
