The Target Collection of American Photography: A Century in Pictures

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFA) was given a choice 30 years ago of how to spend a generous donation from the Target Corporation. The ultimate choice of photography led to the establishment of the Target Collection of American Photography and to the MFA photography collection. The collection is now comprised of more than 22,000 photographs including photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz, Harold E. Edgerton, Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, and Robert Frank. This exhibition includes 90 photographs which examine the change in the medium over the last 100 years. The Target Collection of American Photography: A Century in Pictures, has been organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The exhibition is generously funded by Target.
