Past Paper//Present Marks: Responding to Rauschenberg is a series of photography-based camera-less prints created by Jennifer Garza-Cuen and Odette England while in residence at the Captiva Island Robert Rauschenberg Artist Residency in 2018-19. During an intense week, working 16-hour days Garza-Cuen and England collaborated using the artist, Robert Rauschenberg’s expired photographic paper, chemistry, swimming pool, darkroom, and studio. Their collaboration yielded approximately 200 unique abstract photograms, a selection of which will be presented in a book by the same name, published by Radius Books and available in the Museum’s giftshop.
