Art Museum of South Texas

This was a special exhibition of arts and crafts by both white and black folk craftspeople from the Deep South. In addition to presenting the crafts, it also provided information about the people themselves. The exhibition was organized by The Center for Southern Folklore, directed by William Ferris and Judy Peiser and circulated by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service: SITES. It features quilts by Pecolia Warner as well as other American folk artists.
