AMST houses over 1,900 works of art in the permanent collection. Expressions in Wood gives the viewer a peek into the various forms wood can take when looked at through the artistic eye. Some works of art in this exhibition will push the viewer to think about the age old question: what is art? For example is Craig Nutt’s Celery Chair with Peppers, Carrots, and Snow Pea just a gorgeous chair or does it rightfully earn a place amongst the galleries with its one-of-a-kind design. Other works of art in this exhibition will simply ask the viewer to take a closer look, like John Whitehead’s Flower Series/Poppy. An exhibition any craftsman wood enjoy.
