Drawing, Painting and Creative ExpressionHow many different ways can you draw or paint an image of yourself? Inspired by portraits from the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery currently on view in the Museum, we’ll explore, using a variety of mediums such as charcoal, pencil, pastels, acrylic, tempera and watercolor, the many ways to create art based on your self-portrait – from the realistic to the imaginary. Through movement and music, we’ll demonstrate how emotion and expression can tell a story.
