The Fine Art of Summer Camp: Cartoon Art

Comic Book Art and Creative DramaJoin us to explore the whimsical world of cartoon drawing in this week-long session of camp. Focusing on exaggeration and action techniques, inking, coloring and more, we’ll draw several well-known cartoon and anime characters, superheroes and videogame characters. Then we’ll create our own! Students will also have the choice to create either their own comic strip or a graphic novel page for their favorite book.  In the creative drama portion of the day, we’ll bring our characters to life!Members: $150       Nonmembers: $170Location: AMSTRegistration for Members is open now. General Registration including Non-Members registration will be open March 7th, 2017 at 9:00am.Registration for the Fine Art of Summer Camp 2017 is well underway!  Reserve your space online today as spots are filling up quickly.  And don’t forget that witha Family Membership, campers will receive up to $25 off their camp tuition. Sibling discounts are also available. Camp brochures are available for download on the home page of the Museum’s website at: www.artmuseumofsouthtexas.org. The camp day is from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Child-care before and after camp is available for an additional fee.  All sessions are for childrenages K5 (must have completed kindergarten in the 2016-2017 school year) to12. Children are asked to bring their own lunch and snacks; microwave andrefrigerator are not available. Each registered child will receive a camp t-shirt.  Cancellations with full refund minus a $50 processing fee are accepted in writing up to 30 days before the first day of the camp session. Tuition is not refundable for cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the camp session. No refunds due to illness or weather conditions although every effort will be made to reschedule classes canceled due to hurricane threats/conditions.
