Corpus Christi, TX —The Art Museum of South Texas (AMST) proudly announces the opening of two new exhibitions this fall: Arcadian Enclosures, a solo exhibition by acclaimed photographer Jason DeMarte, and Quarter Turn: The 2025 Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi Art + Faculty 9th Biennial, showcasing the innovative work of TAMU-CC faculty artists. Both exhibitions will open to the public on Friday, September 12, 2025, with a special members’ preview reception on the evening of Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Jason Demarte is an artist whose work addresses the profound presence of man in nature,” explains Art Museum of South Texas, curator of exhibitions, Deborah Fullerton, “The resulting prints of imagery envelop the gallery space in a way we rarely see.”
Arcadian Enclosures | Jason DeMarte
In Arcadian Enclosures, Jason DeMarte presents a vivid body of work that interrogates the boundary between the natural and the artificial. DeMarte is an artist best known for his large-scale, highly detailed, seductive flora and fauna photo assemblages that explore our cultural relationship to the natural world.
DeMarte’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide and is held in many private and public collections including the Denver Art Museum, the University of Michigan Museum of Art, the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Photography, the Museum of Outdoor Arts, the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, Saks 5th Avenue Stores, and 21c Museum Hotels.
