Currently on view at the Corpus Christi International Airport:

These works of art are from the Permanent Collection of the Art Museum of South Texas. They change periodically to give travelers a sense of what is currently on view at the Museum. To see more of the Art Museum’s 2,000+ piece-and-growing permanent collection visit us at 1902 North Shoreline Boulevard. Our two iconic buildings the Philip Johnson, and Ricardo Legorreta buildings sit like two beacons of fine art rising from the bay.

Bronze Sculpture:

Jim Love, “Flowers”, 1997, bronze sculpture, 18.5″ x 15″ x 14″, From the Friends of Jim Love, Houston TX,  Alt Text: Bronze sculpture of three oversized flowers in a vase on a square base.

Ceramic “Catrina” Skeleton Woman:

Unknown artist, “Day of the Dead Bride”, c. 20th Century, ceramic, 23.25 x 8.5 x 6.25″, Gift of Kenneth and Dorothy Holmes, Corpus Christi, TX, Alt Text: Ceramic scuplture, dipped in off white glaze, of a Mexican Catrina or skeleton woman. Flowers wrap like a crown around her skull complete with a veil, her ribcage shows through the bodice of her gown and a garland of flowers flows around her arms and hips trailing down the front of her gown in a single line.
