Although Alvarez Bravo is one of the three or four greatest living Mexican artists in any medium, his extensive body of work has not been widely known in the United States. The exhibition, organized by the Corcoran Gallery of Art, included approximately 185 black and white prints and a few works in color ranging in dates from the late twenties to the present time.
