Celebrate Your Birthday . . .

Birthday party packages are available for children ages 2 to 12 years old, last for 2 hours and include approximately 1 hour of hands-on art experiences followed by an additional hour of birthday celebration in a private room. The packages are only available for members of the Museum at the Family Level.

Birthday parties include:

• all-day admission for the host and birthday guests;
• tables and chairs;
• party room rental for a specified time;
• trash bags and trash receptacles for clean-up;
• an art teacher, art supplies and activity for one hour; and
• a gift for the birthday boy or girl

Visionarios Art Competition

Flint Hills Resources and The Art Museum of South Texas are pleased to announce the 2012 Visionarios Youth Art Contest for students in grades 1-12. This juried competition encourages young people to participate in art and provides an opportunity for them to be recognized for their efforts.

The name "Visionarios" celebrates youthful vision and creativity as expressed through art. Research shows that students who study the arts perform better in the classroom and on standardized tests and are less likely to drop out of school. Arts education also helps students develop the self-discipline, cooperation, and self-motivation necessary for high achievement in school and in life. Flint Hills Resources and AMST are dedicated to helping young people envision a bright future and develop the discipline and creativity to achieve their goals.

THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE.

Entries for Visionarios 2012 should be based on the student's interpretation of this year's theme: Our Land Our People.

• January 10 – 13, 2012
  All-level entries accepted; no entries accepted after 5 p.m., January 13th deadline
