A Reading Wonderland

Who:      The Junior League of Corpus Christi, H-E-B, and the Art Museum of South Texas, along with 30 area youth groups
What:     Register your school to compete in the 12th annual tree-decorating contest
When:    Nov. 15-17, 19: 10am – 6pm, Nov. 18: 10am-7pm (decorate trees @ AMST) / Dec. 11, 10am – 3pm (Free Family Day)
Where:   Art Museum of South Texas, 1902 N. Shoreline Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas  78401
Why:      To give students, teachers and families in the Corpus Christi area the opportunity to foster a love of reading and to promote
critical thinking and creativity through exploration of award-winning literature and illustrations

Eligibility: All interested parties must by affiliated with a Coastal Bend area school/youth or homeschool organization such as a particular classroom
or grade level, a boy or girl scout troop, student council, 4-H Club, etc. Thirty (30) schools and three (3) alternates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

*PLEASE NOTE: We have assigned all 30 trees and the submission form is now closed. 

To verify that your entry has been received, you will be sent a confirmation email immediately, in most cases, and absolutely no later than the next business day. If you haven’t heard from an AMST representative within this time frame, please call 361.825.3504. Entries will be accepted until all slots are filled. Each school must complete their tree by 6pm on 11/19 to be ready for public viewing on 11/20.

Each school/youth group will be provided with a 7ft. artificial, pre-lit tree and a $100 H-E-B gift card for decorating supplies. You are NOT restricted to this $100; additional supplies may be purchased. The majority of your group’s decorations should be hand-crafted. Voting runs from 11/20 through 12/15.  Museum visitors will be able to vote during visiting hours. The top 3 winners will be contacted on 12/16, and $75, $150, and $300 H-E-B gift cards will be awarded.  All trees will be donated to families in need in the area.
